.There are over 3 million deaths every year worldwide from insect borne diseases such as; Malaria, Yellow Fever, Dengue Fever, Zika and Elephantitis

Neither DEET in a bottle or natural oils in a bottle are the answer.

Excess DEET is toxic to the human nerve system if used long term.

The WHO (World Health Organisation) recommendation is a maximum of 40% for adults and 30% for children between 6 months and 12 years old. DEET is a life saver and is effective against mosquitoes particularly.

DEET is not so effective against black flies (sandflies).

BITEGUARD... Strength and Safety!

BITEGUARD should be applied dawn and dusk and every 4 hours in between when in areas where mosquitoes are present. In New Zealand mosquitoes are night creatures but the Aedes Mosquito is a day creature offshore and carries tropical diseases.

When offshore travelling apply BITEGUARD consistently as above and take your anti-malarial medications as directed by your travel doctor.

To prevent black fly/ sand fly bites apply BITEGUARD every 4 hours to hands, ankles and neck BEFORE going near the waters edge or vegetation. Sand flies live around the waters edge and lay their eggs on the rocks using your blood as a food source for their larvae. Black Flies are common in Scotland/Wales/Ireland and in many other countries including Australia, Canada and the USA.
